Privacy notice

We don't collect personal information.

BASG is a free, non-commercial study aid. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. This page explains exactly what that means in practice so you can verify it.

At a glance

  • No accounts. No email, name, or any sign-up.
  • No analytics. We do not run Google Analytics, Plausible, or similar.
  • No advertising and no marketing pixels.
  • No selling, sharing, or licensing of user data — there is no user data.
  • No cookies set by BASG for tracking purposes.
  • Anything you type (drafts, notes, scenario answers) stays in your browser tab and is discarded when you close it.

What information we process

BASG does not ask for, collect, or store any personal information about you. We do not maintain user accounts, profiles, mailing lists, or back-end records of who visits the site or what they study.

Standard hosting infrastructure (the server that delivers the site to your browser) may briefly process technical request data — such as your IP address, the page you requested, and your browser's user-agent string — purely to deliver the page and to keep the service available and secure. This information is not used to identify you, is not combined with anything else, and is not retained by BASG for analysis.

Cookies and local storage

BASG does not set tracking cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or social-media cookies. Your browser may still keep a small amount of technical data (for example, a cache of pages you've already loaded) — that is handled by your browser, not by BASG.

Any session state — for example, which scenario you're on, which flashcards you've seen, or text you've drafted in a case study — lives only in your browser tab's memory. It is never sent to a server, and it disappears when you refresh or close the tab.

Third parties

The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts so the typography renders correctly. By requesting those font files, your browser will contact Google's servers, which will see your IP address and user-agent as part of any normal web request. Google's use of that information is governed by its own privacy policy. BASG does not pass any user data to Google or to any other third party.

Pages may link to external sites (for example, iiba.org) for reference. Those sites have their own privacy practices and we are not responsible for them.

Children

BASG is a general-audience study site. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — child or adult.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or store personal information, there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. If you have a question about this notice, contact the maintainers through the project's usual channels.

Changes to this notice

If our practices ever change — for example, if BASG introduces an optional feature that requires saving data — this page will be updated before that feature goes live, and the change will be obvious. Until then, the policy is simple: nothing personal in, nothing personal stored.
